How My Family Has Ruined ‘Elf On The Shelf’

I first heard of Elf On The Shelf a couple years ago during college while I was scrolling through Pinterest and thought it was a cute idea!

My mom, also a Pinterest enthusiast, had the same reaction and decided to get our family an Elf On The Shelf... last year.

So, in 2013, when her youngest child was 17, she decides to hide a magical Elf around the house. Makes sense, right?

How my family does Elf On The Shelf is that whoever finds "Ralphie the Elf-ie" is the person responsible for hiding him that night. And, when you leave this up to a 17, 20 and 23-year-old, you can only expect the inappropriate. Leave it to my family to ruin a perfectly cute children's tradition.
