After all the pics I look at in a day, week, or month's time of artists in country music, I had to finally figure it out for myself: Why on earth does Eric Church almost always wear sunglasses?!

At first, I thought it was because he is shy. Many performers throughout the history of concerts, plays and public displays of their talent, have had some form or another of stage fright. Some people drink to get up enough nerve to sing in front of a large audience. I have seen performers have the comfort of holding a guitar on stage without actually playing it. Sometimes a special necklace or trinket is worn and sometimes, like pop artist Sia, they just downright turn their back to the audience in order to sing at all.

Surprisingly, that isn't the case with Eric Church. Nope. I searched the internet, watched videos and read articles. Eric Church began wearing sunglasses on stage because the hot lights were dehydrating to his eyes. Dry eyes and contact lenses don't go well together. His contacts started popping out during shows and he couldn't see clearly. The hot lights plus the fact he is 6' 3" made for a classic case of dry eyes.  Add stage smoke to the scene and Eric said, "no more."

I satisfied my curiosity with a little research and hope it's answered that nagging "why does_____ do _____?"  for you too! I love finding out new things about my favorite country artists!
