Ten Little-Known Facts About Sons of Anarchy!
With SOA stars Tommy Flannegan (Chibs) and Dave Labrava (Happy) coming to town Friday, June 19th for Rally on the River, I thought it'd be appropriate to share some cool facts about the show!
Full disclosure, I was a HUGE fan of the show when it was on (the series finale was this past December) and continue to follow what some of the actors/producers are doing afterwards.
TEN SONS OF ANARCHY LITTLE-KNOWN FACTS!
- Katey Segal, who played Gemma on the show, is married to Kurt Sutter, the show's creator!
- Season 5, Episode 8 aired during Hurricane Sandy. So creator Kurt Sutter bought 5,000 copies of the episode for those who missed out on it due to the hurricane.
- Katey Segal played Jax's mother on the show. The name was inspired by Jackson, Segal's son in real life.
- At least one song performed by Katey Segal was included in every season of the show.
- Creator Kurt Sutter openly admits the show is heavily influenced by the Shakespeare play "Hamlet."
- Sons of Anarchy was originally supposed to be called "Forever Sam Crow."
- One of the show's characters, Tig, suffers from Pediophobia (fear of dolls). Kurt Sutter, the show's creator, has the same phobia in real life.
- Ron Perilman, who plays Clay Morrow, was initially scared of his Harley.
- The show's star, Charlie Hunnam, was originally cast to play Christian Grey in "50 Shades of Grey," but had to back out of the role because of a scheduling conflict with SOA.
- The pilot episode was originally filmed with Scott Glenn in the role of Clay Morrow. When Ron Perlman took over the role, Clay's scenes were redone.
