With SOA stars Tommy Flannegan (Chibs) and Dave Labrava (Happy) coming to town Friday, June 19th for Rally on the River, I thought it'd be appropriate to share some cool facts about the show!

Full disclosure, I was a HUGE fan of the show when it was on (the series finale was this past December) and continue to follow what some of the actors/producers are doing afterwards.

TEN SONS OF ANARCHY LITTLE-KNOWN FACTS!

  1. Katey Segal, who played Gemma on the show, is married to Kurt Sutter, the show's creator!
  2. Season 5, Episode 8 aired during Hurricane Sandy.  So creator Kurt Sutter bought 5,000 copies of the episode for those who missed out on it due to the hurricane.
  3. Katey Segal played Jax's mother on the show.  The name was inspired by Jackson, Segal's son in real life.
  4. At least one song performed by Katey Segal was included in every season of the show.
  5. Creator Kurt Sutter openly admits the show is heavily influenced by the Shakespeare play "Hamlet."
  6. Sons of Anarchy was originally supposed to be called "Forever Sam Crow."
  7. One of the show's characters, Tig, suffers from Pediophobia (fear of dolls).  Kurt Sutter, the show's creator, has the same phobia in real life.
  8. Ron Perilman, who plays Clay Morrow, was initially scared of his Harley.
  9. The show's star, Charlie Hunnam, was originally cast to play Christian Grey in "50 Shades of Grey," but had to back out of the role because of a scheduling conflict with SOA.
  10. The pilot episode was originally filmed with Scott Glenn in the role of Clay Morrow.  When Ron Perlman took over the role, Clay's scenes were redone.
