Do you think people who choose to walk everywhere are weird?  When was the last time you actually walked to your appointment or destination?

I have been having these urges lately to walk more than I ever have before. Maybe it's the weather outside just begging to be enjoyed. Maybe it's the fact I hate traffic and desire more simplicity in life. Perhaps it is all of those things, plus my body's natural inclination for movement, considering we are, as a species, less mobile now than we have ever been in history.

Remember the days when people used to walk nearly every night after dinner? I barely do, but have heard stories from grandparents, parents and have seen it in old black and white films. It seems so odd to think about considering how much I am in the car shuffling kiddos around these days... and THAT has only just begun!

I decided to take a late-night walk over the weekend. The temps were so nice outside and I had been in, doing work on my computer for several hours. I just knew I had to move and decided to walk. It was odd. No one was on the streets, those who were still awake, gave me strange looks as I walked by, as if to say 'what is she doing?!'  I thought about this walking thing the whole time and wondered how odd it is through the eyes of others?
